Project Engineer

DOE minimum 1 year contract

John Gordon and Son Ltd has been trading for over 150 years and is at the forefront of sawmill processing in the UK. The Company continues to significantly invest in its manufacturing process and look for ways to improve efficiencies through lean manufacturing principles.

We are embarking on a programme of extensive capital investment and require a project engineer to ensure the successful implementation of projects and that planned savings are realised.

The role will involve :-

Ensuring adequate project governance

Liaising with suppliers and on site personnel

Managing budgets

Coordinating installation

Coordinating commissioning phase

Completing post completion review

The Project Engineer will be working with the support of the onsite Health and Safety, Production and Engineering teams.

About You

The right individual should be diligent, conscientious and self motivated, capable of performing to high standards whilst adhering to all Health and Safety requirements, You will possess excellent communication, organisational and problem solving skills.The candidate should be able to work as part of a team or on your own initiative overseeing the completion of the work in a safe and professional manner whilst minimising disruption and inconvenience to production.

Skills and experience

Education to degree level in an Engineering discipline

Manufacturing background

Previous project management experience
